Hi! Check out my work and get in touch below.
This area of the website is to provide the resources I wish I had at the beginning of my career: insights on being an admin (introvert or otherwise), info and inspiration using the latest admin tools/apps, book reviews, and other admin resources.
I hope you find something entertaining and/or interesting here. Please drop me a line, leave a comment, or, just lurk silently in the shadows – I’ll know you were here because I will check my stats.
Some of my work
My go-to app for creating quick designs at work is Canva.
Here are designs I created for assignments when I was studying for the IAAP CAP exam.
With over 35 years of administrative experience, I contributed to numerous projects ranging from managing federally funded smoking cessation projects, helping clinical faculty submit hundreds of manuscripts, managing lead intake for an IT third-party assessment program. See my contact information below and get in touch.
Work With Me
My skills and specialities include strong interpersonal communication skills, self motivation, planning, prioritizing, and organizing work. I love learning – here is a short list of the programs and apps that I am an intermediate or better user: Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint, Microsoft Dynamics CRM; Google Docs, gmail, Sheets, Slides; Evernote; Concur; Gimp, kDen Live.
My portfolio showcases various professional and personal projects created throughout my career. Subscribe to my site to get updated when I add new material.
I’ve held a variety of administrative roles since the 1980s – before personal computers, cell phones, the Interwebs and social media! Unless push comes to shove, I’m loathe to change jobs because I’m an introvert. The idea of putting myself out there, going on interviews and telling people how I can solve their admin problems is not my most favorite thing in the world.
I love helping people., whether it’s finding lost files or teaching people tips and tricks in Word, Excel, Powerpoint or Microsoft Dynamics CRM. How did you get started in your field?
Coworkers have called me their ritalin and that my presence makes them smarter – because I can answer most questions or know where to find the answer (I try really hard not be that admin….you know…a Know-It-All – the key is to be humble with a healthy sprinkle of silly.
When I’m not at work, I am a mixed media artist (poke around the menu of this site for examples). I hang out at home with the Mister watching movies (sci fi, film noir and detective/police procedurals are a few faves). I collect Asian ball jointed dolls, enjoy digital photography. And, if all that isn’t enough, I am currently the President of the Nihon ki-in of the West (the Seattle Go Center) Board of Directors and play go .
