Hi ho, art friends. Today, I checked off a goal: to enter my work in an art competition. I enter five of my floral canvases in the Light Space Time “Botanicals” competition.
Since joining Sebastian Michael’s classes (Photoshop Grunge Artistry and Awake), I’ve been working toward creating digital versions of my mixed media art and I finally feel like my photos and mixed media art is merging together. Although I’ve entered (and done pretty well) in the Shift Art competitions, I’m ready to enter my work in bigger art competitions.
The Light Space Time Art site offers tips for artists to promote their work, in addition to the monthly competitions. Exhibiting and promoting my work are the areas I feel I need the most work. After going through my Society6 shop, I have a much larger body of work than I thought.
Here are the works I’ve entered, along with a link to the framed print available in my Society6 shop, in case you’re interested in purchasing a copy for your home or office.
“After the Rain,” one of the garden photos taken at my first visit to Hollyhock.
“Two Daisies,” one of the photos taken during my August 2016 road trip with Mom in Eastern Washington.
“Cherry Blossoms,” taken quite some time ago with one of my first digital cameras on my walk to work.
“Summer Day” (which I inexplicably renamed “Pink Dahlia and Friend” for the competition) another Hollyhock garden photo.
And finally, “Abstract Orange Flower” a macro photo taken on a walk around the neighborhood.
So what goals are you working on? Leave a comment and link to your work in progress. I’d like to stop by and support your work.
